Spots Locals Love to Eat Outdoors

Updated: Sep 22, 2021

When Fall blows in and cools down the air, eating outdoors is on the menu for PQ locals. Here are their favorites!

252 Grill

Where in PQ can you sit at a high-top picnic table under the shade of a tall umbrella while you sip your favorite beer or wine? You guessed it! All American, 252 Grill.

Maybe an IPA paired with a stack 'em high burger and a friendly game of cornhole is your thing. Maybe it's a chilled glass of Pinto Grigio on the side of your Chicken and Bacon Spinach Salad. Either way, a cool breeze always matches the mood of Fall outdoor dining at 252 Grill!

Planters Ridge

This open-air farm market is a whole destination. Giant glass garage doors open overhead to truly let the outdoors in. But don't expect heat or bugs to be an issue as industrial fans above give the perfect amount of breeze for comfortable dining. Enjoy a salad or sandwich of your design at a high top under the fans, or at a good old fashioned picnic table under a shady umbrella.

After lunch, do some shopping for fresh produce, Boar's Head meats and cheeses, and home and garden goodies! Planters Ridge has it all!

The Nicholson House

This Victorian home-turned-restaurant (and boutique gift shop!) has the prettiest landscape for its outdoor seating area. Mostly utilized for those who order their meals to-go, the charming patio provides cool shade and a gorgeous garden view for sweet tea sipping and a menu that will make your choice difficult to make! Although, the specials are great every day, so "I'll have the special!" is always a wise choice. Located in the heart of Belvidere, NC, this best-kept secret is only a short drive from the center of Hertford.

Take it from the locals. When in Perquimans, ask for outdoor seating!
