On your next weekend trip to Perquimans County, be sure to stop and smell the Rosé!
There isn't much better than gathering with friends to catch up, wind down, or let it go. Here's a roundup of the best spots for a Hertford happy hour.
Hertford Bay Tap House
Although the man-cave vibe is strong with this one, all are welcome at "The" Tap House, as the locals call it. It's a beer and wine bar serving up your domestic favorites as well as local craft beers and concoctions with names like "Redneck River Juice."
On Thursday nights, you can practice your trivia skills, Fridays are for karaoke, and the Saturday night lights often shine on live music. If you're lucky enough to come at the right time of year, you may even catch a Mac N Cheese or Chili cook-off!
Play pool or ski ball, or catch the Carolina moon out on the patio lit with string lights overhead.
252 Grill
This bar and grill was named after the local area code, and has all the best local vibes. Sit at the indoor bar, or in the outdoor seating area complete with high-top picnic tables, shade tents, and chill lighting. If you're looking for apps, they have the best bar food including wings, cheesy bacon fries, fried pickles, loaded potato wedges, and something you won't want to miss called Lava Rings.
Specials are always on tap with meals and drinks alike. Wash your hand-breaded chicken tenders down with a beer from Ghost Harbor Brewery, or something lighter like an Apple Moscato Spritzer.
Barley & Vine
If a cozy atmosphere with local beers on tap, reds and whites of all kinds, and a puzzle on the table is more your style, be sure to check out Barley & Vine.
Here you can sink into a plush arm chair or couch while you sample one or two wines, settle on a glass of the one you love best, and enjoy conversation with friends. Don't forget to also enjoy the nuts or chocolates that pair well with your choice! For more on this location, see our previous article, A Taste of Barley & Vine.
We hope to see you at one of these Happy Hour choices soon! Cheers!
